heck I have even tried Windex so hot soapy water not to far fetched. I will give it try tomorrow.

Dan it also could be fowling left by the bullet lube or just leading NORM

I am going to try the hot soapy water tonight. My M78 is not doing this and i am shooting the same lube and lead for it, but anything is possible. for a soap what would you use i was thinking dish...

Dan,  I started using windshield washer fluid for my solvent in the muzzle loaders in the field quite awhile back.  Seems to cut it pretty fast. Also its cheap and easy to use as much as you want....

Well I tried the hot soapy water and I get clean patched doing this but after I dried it out, and I run a oily patch through I get black on the patch again

DAN don't know what to tell you then, I have one or two of mine that has some pits in them, that do that, , even after I fire lap them , I took it that lead had filled the pits, I have even fired 300...

Try to clean it with Kroil soaked patch, then a brush, if it is lead that has filled pits, it should get it out. Also, coating a dry bore with Ballistol and letting it soak, it may help get some of...
